Membership

“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.  Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” Hebrews 10:24-25

Living a faithful life is not automatic or easy.  It requires commitment, self-discipline, and persistence. God established the Church so that His people would have the support, encouragement, and resources they need to successfully carry out His plan for their lives.

The Bible describes the Church as: a Family (Galatians 6:10; 1 Peter 4:17), a Body (1 Corinthians 12:12ff), a Flock(John 10:16; Acts 20:28; 1 Peter 5:2-3) and even a Bride (Revelations 19:7).  What each of these descriptions have in common is a sense of belonging.  God has not left us alone to fend for ourselves.  He has provided the Church where His people can become a part of something greater than themselves.  It is for that reason that we encourage church membership.
